I recently had the pleasure and privilege of seeing a screening of this film, followed by a panel discussion with Ricki Lake, and local midwifery and OB/GYN experts. This film beautifully expresses both what is very right and what is very wrong with birthing practices in the USA. Along the way, it illustrates plaintively the beauty and grace in the process of giving birth for mothers, and of the compassion and expertise necessary in birthing professionals. It is a balanced and beautiful film and I urge all to see it, if you have the opportunity.
